• Perinatal Community Health Worker Pre-Training Readiness Assessment

  • We are honored that you are interested in joining a Mamatoto Village training. This self-assessment is a tool to help you reflect on whether you currently have the time, support, and capacity to complete the training and enter perinatal health work.

    This is not a test, and there are no right or wrong answers. Your results are for your own reflection.

    Training commitment (at minimum):

    • 230+ training hours over 6 months (in-person and live virtual instruction)
    • 5-10 hours of coursework, assignments, and studying per week
    • 5 hours: written and skills exam

    Response scale
    1 = Strongly Disagree (Not true for me right now)
    2 = Disagree
    3 = Unsure / Sometimes
    4 = Agree
    5 = Strongly Agree (Very true for me right now)

  • Are you parenting or have caregiving responsibilities?*
  • Do you have a pet(s)?*
  • Your Readiness Results

    These results are intended for reflection. If you want support planning around barriers, note your lowest-scored items.
  • Strong readiness right now (85–100%)
    Your responses suggest you likely have the time, support, capacity, and stability to complete the training sustainably. Review any items you rated 1–3 and make a plan to strengthen those areas.

  • Generally ready, with a plan needed (70–84%)
    With targeted planning, you should be able to successfully complete the training. Focus on any items you rated 1–3, especially schedule coverage, care-giving needs, transportation, study time, and emotional supports.

  • Capacity constraints: pause and plan (50–69%)
    Your responses indicate several barriers that may prevent you from successfully completing training. Consider delaying enrollment or securing concrete supports before starting.

  • Not right now: build your capacity (below 50%)
    Based on your responses, completing training may not be sustainable right now. This is not “never,” it’s “not yet.” Identify your top 2–3 barriers and revisit when circumstances change.

  • Capacity Caution

    Your responses indicate at least one high-impact barrier that commonly prevents successful completion. Before enrolling, we recommend creating a concrete plan for the areas you rated 1–2 (supports, schedule coverage, transportation, and/or emotional support).

  • Should be Empty:
